Christantus Uche Ignites Comfortable Palace Victory at Irish Side Shelbourne.

Despite entering their maiden continental adventure, Crystal Palace are adapting very quickly. Missing key players like forward Jean-Philippe Mateta and wing-back Daniel Muñoz, the Eagles departed Dublin with a commanding result that all but guarantees them a spot in the Europa Conference League qualifying rounds.

Another victory in their next match against Finland's KuPS should be sufficient to secure direct entry to the last 16, especially following a prior setback against Strasbourg.

Squad Members Seize the Moment

This occasion provided a chance for some of Palace's lesser-used players to shine. Christantus Uche, in only his second beginning since joining on loan from Getafe, opened the account with a clinical goal. Forward Eddie Nketiah added a second, scoring for the second consecutive succession.

The Shelbourne side that had concluded their domestic season were outmatched even for a largely second-string Palace outfit. The visitors were already depleted by the reports that Mateta and Muñoz are sidelined with leg problems.

Control Established from the Outset

The home side were hanging on desperately. Defender Kameron Ledwidge was lucky to escape a booking for a couple of agricultural challenges on Yeremy Pino, before Chris Richards rattled the crossbar with a powerful header from a corner.

Pino Wraps Up the Game

The match was effectively over eight minutes from half-time. Yeremy Pino meandered past a series of weak challenges before calmly slotting a shot past keeper Wessel Speel to extend the lead to 3-0.

Following the break, coach Oliver Glasner took the chance to rest several individuals like Kamada and Wharton. Replacement Romain Esse came close to scoring his first touch, only to see his shot blocked.

Esse was incredibly unlucky later on, seeing one attempt crash off both posts before being clasped on the line. Uche then blazed a sitter of a chance, showing there is still room for development in his game.

A solitary concern for Palace was a late injury to Justin Devenny, who was forced off. This paved the way for 17-year-old striker Benji Casey to make his first-team debut, rounding off an otherwise perfect night for the visiting side.
