19 of Medvedev's 21 titles have been achieved on hard courts

A comeback the Russian player secured his initial trophy for nearly 30 months with victory over opponent Moutet in the tournament final.

The Russian, a former top-ranked player, has experienced a torrid year, winning just a single victory at the Grand Slams and experiencing a setback at the US Open.

His varied form on the ATP Tour - and struggles with his serving in specific - led to him dropping out of the world's top 10 and finally parting ways with long-time trainer Cervara.

Presently collaborating with Johansson and his other coach, the tennis star has consistently improved in the last few weeks - peaking in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over Frenchman Moutet.

This represents the player's maiden trophy following the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hard surface since spring of that year.

Victory also indicates he has secured twenty-one victories at twenty-one distinct competitions.

"This marks the first occasion I have attended a tournament with my both daughters together, so to get a trophy is particularly special," commented ranked player the champion.

"This championship is in dedication of my younger daughter Victoria, because the first title I got when my first daughter her name was delivered was for her."

Medvedev, the former major winner, had lost his previous six finals, including in the German tournament previously this season.

The player's counter-punching strategy and recurring emotional displays on the tennis court had prompted some to question if his capacity to compete at the highest level was finished.

But the athlete has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, striving to approach the net and perform positively, backed up by an enhanced serve.

Medvedev came back from a disadvantage in the first set against the difficult Frenchman, securing four of the concluding five games to take the lead.

Both players traded breaks in the following set before Moutet, striving for his first tour title, gained dominance to push for a third set.

The opponent saved four early-game chances in a competitive final set before the champion secured a break to that score to secure the win.

Fittingly, he earned victory with a shot at the net, with his opponent unable to handle a volley after over two and a half hours.
